Wedding in England

El fin de semana pasado estuve en la boda de mi amiga Verena en Horsham, un pueblito a las afueras de Londres. Una escena de cuento en la campiña inglesa. Estas son algunas fotos del sitio y de mi vestido para el Gran Dia.
Compré este vestido en una venta de muestrario en Spitafields, Londres, el año pasado. Y cada vez que me lo pongo me gusta más!! Es super cómodo y la seda sienta como un guante. El bolsito es el Amazona 12 ante/oro de Loewe.
Espero que os guste!
Por cierto, me voy de vacaciones 10 días, así que os veré a la vuelta. (Me voy a Bali, qué ganas! Volamos en unas horas a Bangkok y de ahí a Denpasar)

I went to Horsham last weekend for the wedding of my dear friend Verena. He got married in a very beautiful scene outside London, in the soo green countryside. Here are some pics from the outfit I wore for the big day. I bought this dress last year on a sample sale in Spitafields, London, and I love, love, love it! It is great fit, comfortable and pretty. Bienvenida Primavera!
Tuve la gran suerte de acudir a un desfile de Loewe en su tienda de Serrano-Madrid la semana pasada. Fue fantástico ver las increibles piezas para el otoño/invierno que ya en su momento se presentaron en Paris y en el Botánico de Madrid. Y, cómo no, llevé un genial y comodísimo vestido de esta temporada.
Precioso este modelo de mariposas en colores fuxias y verdes! Una seda maravillosa que se adapta al cuerpo con fabulosa sinergia.

Welcome Spring!
I had the chance to assist to a Loewe show on its flagship store in Madrid last week. It was soo great to see the incredible pieces for the following Autumn/Winter that were already presented in Paris and at the Botanic Garden in Madrid. Of course, I was dressed in Loewe with this amazingly beautiful and comfy silk dress from the current Spring season.
Shiny silk with butterflies, fuchsias, greens... on a perfect pattern.

Esta semana he descubierto la 214 Magazine, un e-zine de Topshop con imagenes realmente inspiradoras. Esta semana, iba de bloggeras americanas. Y es cierto que los diseñadores de moda de gran nombre son Europeos, pero eso no quita que al fin, la moda made in america empiece a despuntar.
El estilo llega y llega para quedarse en los States, no os perdais a Emily Schuman y su Cupcakes&Cashmere, bonita mezcla de moda y recetas muy, muy dulces. O a Elisabeth Spiridaki en White Lightening, originales vintage pics y musica, todo en uno.
Y, por supuesto, no os perdais el 214 Magazine!

This week I have discovered the 214 Magazine, an e-zine by Topshop with incredible inspirational pictures. This week, it was about US bloggers. It is true that most well known designers are europeans, but a new consciousness is getting into US fashion skyline. And a new sense of style is emerging.

Se ha levantado, al fin, la mañana más bonita del año. Y yo me he encontrado con estas maravillas en la red... y en las tiendas. ¿Por qué tiene que ser tan caro Zadig&Voltaire? Claro, una se enamora pronto de estas piezas, de esta campaña, del estilismo pseudopunk, pseudocasual y ultracomfy, pero los precios, no acompañan!! El día que pueda permitirme una camiseta, una chaqueta de cashmere con calavera, un reloj, un clutch... de Zadig&Voltaire, I´ll call it a day!

La inspiracion de hoy viene por una foto que encontré dando una vuelta por internet. Hace unos dias visité Blanco en Madrid, hacía mucho que no entraba, así que fue una grata sorpresa ver el nuevo look&feel de la tienda y encontrar un par de cosas que valían la pena. Me gustaron los legging de leopardo, me recordaron a esta foto que tenía en mi escritorio desde hace tiempo. Y me gustaron los accesorios: pendientes de plumas, colgante con cazasueños, brazaletes con python print...
El cielo estaba un poco gris para las fotos, pero parece ser que este fin de semana vuelve el buen tiempo. Por fin!!!

The Inspiration for this post comes from a photo that i found surfing on the internet. A few days ago I visited Blanco, Spanish easywearing fashion brand, and it was a very nice surprise to discover the new look&feel of the store and find a few things that I really like. First were these leopard print leggings, which reminded me of this photo I kept on my desk since long time ago. And I liked the accessories: feather earings, dreamcatcher necklaces, python print brazalets...
Sky was quite grey for pictures, but this weekend promises better weather, clearer, sunnier afternoons... Finally!!!

Me gusta la nueva colección de Yerse de la mano de la modelo y diseñadora Ariadne Artiles. Parece muy cómoda, muy día a día, totalmente realista. Pero lo que más me gusta es su catálogo, una pieza que podría haber pasado desapercibida, como otra publi dentro del ELLE, pero que cayó en mis manos y me enamoró nada más ver la primera imagen. Cuenta, no una historia, si no muchas historias. Pequeñas historias del día a día, de lo que parece que no acontece, y, sin embargo, es lo que más importa. Los pequeños detalles de la vida que pasa mientras estamos tan ocupados haciendo planes para vivirla...

I really like the new Yerse collection by Spanish model and icon Ariadne Artiles. Looks very comfy, very daily, totally realist and down to earth. Maybe that´s what I like the most of it, but I guess what really got me was its great imaginary catalogue. It could have fallen and get lost from the ELLE magazine, but I got it in my hands and I fell in love as soon as I opened the first page. There is not just one story behind the images, but many. Many small stories, secret stories, versions on the everyday details that happen in life while we are very busy making plans...
Let´s make the most of these tiny bit of seconds, soo grateful in Life. Cause this is what Life really means.

On a gig´s night...

Una noche de concierto. Ayer dimos el ultimo bolo antes de nuestra "baja" temporal. Esto de la música es mi primer vicio (el segundo, por supuesto, es la moda). Así que escogí una camiseta muy normalita pero con rollo usado de Zara, mis leggings de vinilo y un cinturón de tachuelas que compré hace años en una de las tiendas de la calle Fuencarral en Madrid que no son de "marca", una de esas tiendas míticas de ropa punk.
Los pendientes de plumas son de Blanco.
Por cierto, hacía mucho que no entraba en Blanco y esta semana he visto cositas muy monas... mucho rollo vaquero, flecos, ante y plumas: bohemian country. En unos dias empiezan a vender online, ya tengo ganas de ver su Tienda Online y hacer alguna comprita.

A gig´s night. We played live yesterday on the last gig before our "temporary leave". Music is my first vice (my second vice, as you know, is fashion). So I chose a very casual Zara TShirt with a kind of vintage look, my vinyl leggings and a red studs belt that I bought long ago on a small shop in Fuencarral Street in Madrid, not on a fancy store but a mythical punk clothing one.
Feather earrings are from Blanco.
By the way, I went to Blanco this week and they have received very cool stuff... suede, jeans, fringes... bohemian country. They will start selling online soon, I cant wait to check their Online Shop and treat myself. ^^*

Quelque choses que j´aime de Paris

Un día para pasear por Paris. Eso sí, era un dia muy, muy gris.... así que hacia la hora del té entré en un garito que me había recomendado mi amiga Emilie "Horror Picture Tea". Y resultó ser el sitio más chulo que conozco! (hasta la fecha). Tea Time con selección de Kusmi Tea y riquísimos postres a la Parisienne Patisserie, cervezas bien frías y cocktails para la tarde y conciertos de punkrock al anochecer... todo esto en la planta de calle porque en el sótano hay montado un estudio de tatuaje con diseños muy característicos de lineas finas, rojos, negros y tipos de letra que recuerdan el estilo Mr. Burton.
Esa noche tocaban Noswad, punkrock frances.

Y en la pared, exposición de fotografía de Theo Gosselin. Echa un vistazo por que es lo más en arte contemporáneo y urbano.

One day to walk around Paris. It turned out to be a very, very grey day... so I made it to get into a new place at Tea time, great tip from my beloved friend Emilie: "Horror Picture Tea". What a great suprise! It is now the coolest place I can say I have discovered by now. Kusmi Tea and deserts from Parisienne Patisserie for tea time and very cold beers and cocktails for the evening. When night fell, punkrock concert started in the middle of the place, huge rock energy on little room. We were sooo LuckY cause a great band called Noswad, was playing that night.
On the basement, a tattoo studio with artists on a conceptual very characteristic style of thin lines, black and red, Mr. Burton memories of writing...

El color turquesa, ¡cómo favorece! Incluso en estos dias grises que asolan Madrid ultimamente. Este jersey es mi adquisición más cómoda de Urban Outfitters, esta vez no lo compré en la tienda online, este creo recordar que lo compré en un viaje a Nueva York... ah! y el sombrero tambien es de UO pero de este verano, del viaje a San Francisco... ¡Qué ciudad tan increíble! El foulard de calaveras es de H&M, lo vi y era el ultimísimo que quedaba, estaba un poco desgarrado, pero así tiene más personalidad.
Por cierto, esta semana viajo a Paris unos dias, espero traer fotos chulas y mucho street style ;-) Y en cuanto vuelva, tengo que dirigir mis pasos a Ikea, ¡necesito un armario enooorme con urgencia! Llamaré a algun colega experto que me ayude a organizarlo, ¡ojala mis amigas Cam&Cate viviesen más cerca para poder contratarlas y organizar el real mess de mi vestidor! Tendré que llamar a otro experto más cercano, a ver si publica su web y os lo presento ;-P

Turquoise colour, ¡it looks great! Even on these grey days that are isolating Madrid lately. This jumper is my best acquisition ever at Urban Outfitters, not from the online store but from a standing UO paradise in New York... oh! and the hat is also from a UO store, I bought it last summer in San Francisco... What a great trip! What an amazing city!!!
Skulls foulard is from H&M. It was the very last one and a little ripped but I had to get it, it now has more personality.
By the way, this week I am flying to Paris for a few days so I will come bak with pretty pics and loads of street style ;)
And as soon as I come back, I need to visit Ikea cause I urgently need a huge new closet! I will call an expert-friend to help me out with the real mess of my dressing room, I wish my friends Cam&Cate live closer so I can hire them to sort out a newly styled closet!
I will have to call another friend who lives closer and is starting up a similar idea in Spain. I will introduce him here as soon as his website is ready ;)

Y al fin San Valentin quedó atras. Me parece una fiesta un poco hortera y un sinrazon, creo firmemente que todos los días deberían ser San Valentin, para recordar a las personas que quieres y que se acuerden de ti. Pero, como dice el refran, ¡a nadie le amarga un dulce! Y yo recibí un roscon buenísimo de La Rosconada. Un nuevo obrador artesano de roscones, con combinaciones de sabores riquísimas en roscones que pueden ser dulces o salados. Prueba uno y querrás repetir cada día. Tambien los hacen en tamaño "mini". Es mi nuevo secreto.
Un pequeño tesoro que está en Madrid, en el Mercado de la Paz (Metro Serrano, c/ Ayala 28). ¡Y qué cada día sea San Valentin!

My boyfriend got it at La Rosconada, a new artisan concept of an everyday exclusive Roscon creation, don´t miss it!! Try them at Mercado de la Paz in Madrid (Serrano tube station, Ayala street 28). Dos fotos y una escritora.
Ya tengo encargado It´s Your Voice in my Head, el nuevo libro de Emma Forrest. La escritora que se hizo famosa por ser joven, por escribir en el Evening Standard a los 13, la columna "Generación X" en el Times a los 16 y publicar su primer libro a los 20. Eternamente joven! Y hoy tiene 33. Qué genial edad! Como dice en su entrevista este mes en Elle UK, "esta es la edad en la que Debbie Harrie se convirtió en estrella".
Hacía mucho que no leia una entrevista y me sentía tan identificada. "Un corazón roto es el mismo corazón roto a los 19, a los 25 o a los 30, provoca el mismo dolor. Mi corazón es como un vinilo rayado que "salta" una y otra vez en la misma canción"...

I have already bought "It´s Your Voice in my Head", the newest book from Emma Forrest. The writer who became famous for being young, for writing on the Evening Standard at the age of 13, the celeb column "Generation X" on The Times at 16 and publishing her first novel at 21. Forever young! She is now 33. What a great age! As she declares on her interview at Elle UK this month, "the age Debbie Harrie was when she became a star".
I don´t remember the last time I felt this empathy when reading an interview. "Heartbreak now was just like the heartbreak I´d felt when I was 19, then 25; and now I was 30 and it was the same heart, the same ache. Really, my heart felt like vinyl that had been scratched so it would always jump in that song"...

No importa. Al final, lo que má nos gusta los días libres es ir supertirada y supercómoda. Y eso he descubierto con estos pantalones baggy de Zara. Los he combinado con las UGG, claro que en color chesnut/camel, casi quedarían más chulos; pero aun no las tengo y con estas en negro tambien quedan bien.
El día de "hoy hago huelga de maquillaje y de tacones" se convierte en el día más largo de la semana, porque es el que más disfrutas!

El primer día del resto de mi vida / First day of the rest of my life

Esta semana he estado muy ocupada: cenas con amigos, al 300% en el trabajo, un viaje relámpago a Paris... Aun así he podido descubrir dos notas nuevas para sobrevivir este rarísimo mes de Febrero, que ni es invierno, ni primavera, ni aun se parece a una estacion del año conocida. La primera es la nota de Mariposas, por todas partes Mariposas! Y la segunda son los leggings, de los que me he hecho gran fan. Leggings de algodon para las botas UGG, bien caletitas, ó de un rollo más rockero, estilo vinilo, perfectos para estas sandalias de Jessica Simpson, gran adquisición de las rebajas!

Por cierto, he descubierto que Michael Pitt (el guapísimo y desaparecido Michael Pitt, que tanto me gustó haciendo de pseudo-Kurt Cobain en Last Days) ha vuelto a la tele con una serie ambientada en los Estados Unidos de los años 20, dirigida por Martin Scorsese y con el gran Steve Buscemi como compañero de reparto. Boardwalk Empire, se llama la serie. Parece ser que a Pitt le llamó Scorsese y le dió el papel tras verle en el casting vestídisimo de Armani. La moda, que siempre ayuda. Él sigue tan guapérrimo como siempre!

I have been really busy last week: dinner with friends, working at 300%, one day trip to Paris... but I still have had the time to discover two new tips to survive February. That silly month that I will never understand and makes me nervous cause it is not Winter, but not Spring yet... so it cannot be composed in one year´Season. First tip are Butterflies, all over the month, hundreds of new welcome butterflies. Second are leggings, my latest treasure found. Cosy cotton leggings for my UGGs or vinyl ones with a rocker touch at night with these Jessica Simpson sandals! Great found on Sale!

By the way, I have discovered that Michael Pitt (the gorgeous and missing Michael Pitt that I loved as pseudo-Kurt Cobain at Last Days) has come back to TV with series Boardwalk Empire, directed by Martin Scorsese and with Steve Buscemi, based on USA on early 20s´. I read that he got the role after a great casting on Armani suit... fashion always helps! He still looks soo gorgeous!

Hace unos años, mi compi de piso americana trajo unas botas de ante un tanto bastas, muy planas y con pinta de dar muchísimo calor... "las UGG", me dijo, "al fin me las ha regalado mi padre, son lo último en USA!". A mi me parecieron ¡¡la antítesis de la moda!!
Este año, pese a no convencerme del todo cómo sentaban (me veía rollo champiñon), me compré un par directo desde UGG.com, previo envío de mi amiga desde Los Angeles ya que la e-shop americana no envía a España y aqui son mucho más caras. ¡Y ahora no me las quito! Son el cielo de los pies... calentitas, cómodas y muy prácticas.
Con leggings, claro, son el complemento básico. Pero tambien, y ¿porqué no?, con vestidos.
De Anti a Pro... no puedo salir sin mis UGG!!

Years ago, mi flatmate from the States brought a pair of coarse and too flat suede boots that looked very comfy but maybe too sweaty... "The UGGs"... she said, "my father finally bought them for me, they are huge in US". I just thought they were the anti-fashion statement!!
This winter, and against the fact that I didnt very much like how they looked on me (I thought I looked like a mushroom-person on them)... I got a pair from UGG.com. My friend sent them from LA as the e-shop does not deliver to Spain and they were much cheaper on the other side of the ocean. And now... I cannot wear anything else on my feet! These boots are heaven... so comfy, so warm and so everyday.
With leggings, of course; but, why not with dresses too?

Ayer cenamos de lujo! En La Chalota, un restaurante escondido, pequeño y con mucho encanto. Una excelente cocina mediterranea y muy bien escogida bodega en Las Rozas, al norte de Madrid. Altamente recomendable! Buenisimo el menú degustación. Aunque, eso sí, mejor ir con hambre para disfrutarlo aun más.

Yesterday we had a fabulous dinner at La Chalota, a petite, cosy and charming restaurant with excellent mediterranean cuisine proposal and a great wine menu. It is located in Las Rozas town, north Madrid. I recommend it to everyone! Specially the "tasting menu". One tip: go hungry to enjoy it even more.

Lo que más me gusta de esta Nueva Colección de Topshop quizá no sean sus piezas del rollo Mallory Knox en Natural Born Killers (qué total estaba Juliette en esa peli!, y, sbtodo, que brutalmente sexy estaba Woody Harrelson...), si no la bocanada de aire fresco que significa ver nuevas colecciones en estas fechas.

Ya pasada la epoca de fiestas, comilonas y turrón que se queda ahí en el plato y que nadie se acaba comiedo... Una no quiere ya ni ver rebajas ni nada de nada. Una quiere Novedad!! Primavera, Ya!!

What I like the most about this collection is not the fact that it is full of pretty comfy pieces with the soul of Mallory Knox from Natural Born Killers (how fab was Juliette Lewis on that movie & best of all, how sexy was Woody Harrelson!), but the fresh air it gives, just now that we are crazy for New Collection after the holidays.

Every end of season I get even more convinced that Sales are not as great as they used to, so now we only beg for new styles to start arriving at our fav stores. These are my fav looks. Come on, Spring!!! I can´t wait!!

Ajena a críticas y desplantes, parece que su colección de ropa y accesorios pega fuerte... ENHORABUENA! Y Enhorabuena a todas las SuperMujeres que trabajan al 200%, cuidan de su familia, mantienen su relación a tope y siguen tan bellas. No parece todo fachada, así que, Enhorabuena.

Oh, Wow! It feels long ago when I posted last time here. I am very sorry for the stopping, I have change jobs and now I work on the online world too so... I guess it felt difficult and weird to post on my blog from home when I spend hours updating another site from the office. But... I have to say... it feels good to be back, to be back on track!

I was reading British VOGUE today, and reading the interview with Victoria Beckham. Well, I have never been a huge fan but the woman is just so courageous, her self-esteem is just one to envy and apparently her cloth&accessories line is working well, Congratulations!! & Congratulations to all those Women out there who can manage a successful job career, a family with children & relationship and still look great! I feel chased by good luck this week. First of all, we are moving to a new building at work and I am going to have a great seat with natural light, just by the grand window!! Secondly, I am back at the gym and surprisingly, the registration fee was 60% off as a especial offer the day I signed! :P I can´t believe my luck!

THE END OF 2009...

I cannot wait! I cannot wait to say hello to 2010.

This year has been good, I cant complain. I have been in Cuba, London, Paris... I have travelled a lot, I have spent a lot of quality time with my family, friends and boyfriend. I have dreamed, I have worked hard and happy. I have cried. I laughed.

Last days have been difficult. Although I had a gig the previous day, on the 20th I couldn´t but think about the sudden death of Brittany Murphy. I was a great fan of her. Loved her so much on great jobs at 8Mile and SPUN, this late one is a cult movie now. Glad I bought the DVD while leaving in London. Pls do not miss it.

My little Tribute to her:

I had the chance to meet her while I was working in Harrods, she walked the Commercial Centre as she opened first day of Sale. She was soo small, tiny and cute. So talented.

Well, hope you have great New Years Eve. Enjoy the precious time with your love ones. I have the greatest feeling for the New 2010. It is going to be full of joy!

A WINTER LOOK

It is very cold!!! I do not know in your cities but it is being freezing in Madrid, all day raining; one must go outside with the umbrella and a good pair of Wellington Boots!! ;)

I have just created a winter look with my most precious acquisitions last year, a warm and cozy Bimba y Lola coat I got half price at an Outlet.

Hat is from REISS, I love it!! I bought it last summer days in Paris, just a "coup de coeur" at Galeries Lafayette! Suede Boots are also from a parisian store at Rue Rivoli, just before arriving to Bastille. Dress from TOPSHOP and belt from Urban Outfitters. All very international, unless from the great Noël Xmas present: the greatest and warmest 100% cashmere Loewe gloves! So warm!!!!

Clothes can also be a gesture os solidarity. I found Annie Greenabelle clothing at TopShop on my last trip to London, I didn´t know it was FairTrade and organic textil, I loved it!!! I bought this skirt, 38 pounds...

After going through its website, I have discovered a few things: fashion can also be solidarity and one can buy FairTrade products, that secure the dignity and rights of all workers fro farms to final seams and transport to centrals; that organical textil exists. This does not mean it would affect our health, but it will do to farmers as it does not use any chemical or pesticides on cotton farms.

There are already 25.000 organic cotton farms in Africa. Workers can use the soil to grow food for themselves and their families. On traditional farms, they use 25% of total World pesticides and the soil is destroyed event to grow anything else and it is damaging for the men even to walk on it. Christopher Kane, born in Glasgow on 26th July 1982, Leo. Genial creative. Graduated in 2006 by superfamous Central Saint Martins College of Arts & Design, London. In 2006, after getting his degree, he establish his own brand at his own name. And collaborates with master Manolo Blahnik.

On the same year he wins two important awards: Young Designer of the Year by Scottish Fashion Awards and Harrods Award of Design which made him able to display his Collection at the great Department Store window showcase on February and March 2006.

He surprises all critics and public with his first Collection, all with very short dresses on neon and fluorescent colors. Christopher sees it as kind of "kinky" but neon colors end up being the most trendy Collection of the Season. He signs up for TopShop on 2006 and Christopher starts working both on his own brand and on the Exclusive Collection for the british megastore.

TopShop Autumn Winter Collection by Christopher Kane is all about Crocodiles, black and punk royal blue. Studs and transparencies. Mixed with the exotic color design for his Great Croco.

The London Underground´s poster

Once upon a time, there was a city, London, madly in love with its signs: Big Ben, the Brits, Mods and Punks, Pete Doherty and Kate Moss, Rolling Stones, London Calling, Sex Pistols, Hide Park, Camden, Covent Garden, Vivienne Westwood, Selfridges, Harrods, Picadilly Circus, London Underground... so may signs!!! It is maybe the city with more memory, with the most recognizable personal signs engraved on popular memory. One can close his eyes and, pam! There all memories appear clearly on its mind...

Yesterday, I was reading the September issue of ELLE UK and I read about the idea to cover London Underground with poster celebrating the 25 years of London Fashion Week. An initiative from ELLE and the city Mayor, in collaboration with

designers from the LFW. From the 25 existing poster that today cover the corridors from stations such as Picadilly, Knightsbridge, Tottenham Court Road or Camden, I have picked up my favourites, hope you like them!

The last look of the Summer at the beach downtown Murcia, Spain. I just picked up the dress, old Zara, with my favourite Loewe belt, I wear it with everything and LoVe it!! It always look good. Also put on my H&M very very cheap picture hat, in obviously black. Bag: Accessorize.Hope you like it! Just think quickly, Summer is almost gone.

Once upon a time, this multifaceted artist called Florence Welch met british designer Hannah Marshall and asked her to create a total look for her upcoming music video of greatest Drumming Song, from album Lungs, a big success!

There it was! Hannah was so happy she created a fascinating look in black. Dark, Goth and Punk. A mix between a Spectrum and an Angel.

We will have more of Florence and the Machine,

the girl is only 22 years old!! Long Life To Florence!!!!

NEW H&M STORE, MADRID

Yes!!! H&M already has a wonderful high class new flagship in Madrid, it is on the old cinema building Palacio de la Musica, just on the Gran Via Street.

Huge queues were at the entrance just to see the inside and the incredible cheap looks.

Oh! Inside is just beautiful, they have saved the old tapestry decoration of walls, like the Madrid´s old mythical cinema once it was! Sala 1 / Screen 1... great vision, my friends of H&M.

Opening day was very special, with the music from mythical movies like Singing in the Rain, Ghost, The Bodyguard... wow! Whitney Houston up to date again!
